Our son was born March 27, 2010 at 1:14 p.m. It came as a surprise to us because he wasn't due until April 25! John had been away all week on a business trip to South Carolina and I had just picked him up from the airport around 9:30 p.m. March 26, when my water broke and labor began! I started having contractions at 1:15 a.m. and they quickly progressed. Poor papa John was so tired, so he slept while I watched a movie on the couch and timed my contractions. We left for Sierra Vista hospital at 7 a.m. We hadn't planned on going to Sierra Vista so it was painful waiting to register and give my history while in labor! Everything went well, I had great support and Jacob was as healthy as can be...especially for being so early! He was 17 3/4 inches, 5 pounds 8 ounces. He ended up spending 3 hours in the NICU for testing. It was so hard to be without my little guy. I was so happy when they gave him back to me!
